Oz Mega Wagga Wagga Program

Good Friday 2nd April

The Kurrajong Reserve and camp site opens at 9.00am for all arrivals during the day.

All teams will be warmly welcomed on arrival at the entrance gates and then directed to their camping allocations.

After camp set-up, all teams will register in the Registration Hall and collect registration and welcome pack together with pre-ordered merchandise and meal vouchers.

The registration hall will have many tables for registration, the Geocache Store and geocoin location and much more.

Easter Saturday 3rd April

Welcoming of more teams from afar with Registration open from 9.00am.

Grand Opening and instructions for Oz Mega competition at 10.00am.

The Oz Mega competition will take teams to 40 special locations including highlights and tourist spots as you weave your way around Wagga Wagga. Fantastic prizes will be on offer including the winning team receiving 2 adult economy return flight tickets from any capital city in Australia to any other capital city in Australia of your choice.

5.30pm to 8pm - Dinner meals served.

6.00pm Night Entertainment commences with 4 hours of live entertainment by Don Hillam. Giant Bonfire will also be lit nearby.

8.30 pm - Welcome Speech.

Major Sponsor Riverina Camping World welcome.

9.00pm. Fireworks Spectacular presented by Southern Cross Fireworks – (Team Crackers) with musical accompaniment. (free)

Saturday Lucky Draws

10.00pm - Entertainment finishes - noise curfew at 10.30pm.

NB: Daylight savings ends - clocks turn back 1 hour.

Easter Sunday 4th April

Sunday will feature the “Kids Mega Easter Egg Hunt”. (free)

This will be followed by the exciting “Helicopter Megadrop” where a helicopter will hover about 200 metres above the grounds. Special sponge balls with lucky numbers attached will be dispersed into the crowd of eager onlookers. (free)

Many thrilling prizes will be awarded to the lucky retrievers including the lucky number one winner receiving a free team joyflight immediately over the scenic sights of Wagga Wagga. Joyflights will then be available all day to those who wish to purchase them.

A special "Wine and Cheese Tasting" has been arranged at the nearby award winning Wagga Winery from 12-4pm, not far from the Oz mega Wagga Wagga site on Oura Road, approx 5km. (www.waggawaggawinery.com.au) ($1.50pp)

5.30pm to 8pm - meals served.

5.00pm Cub Campers Night Entertainment commences with 3 hours of live entertainment by the Tin Shed Rattlers. Giant Bonfire will also be lit nearby.

A thrilling “Whipcracking Show” will feature on stage, conducted by champion whipcrackers - The Pendergasts. (free)

Sunday Lucky Draw

The prize presentation and closing ceremony will be a finale with many guests and sponsors presenting many exciting prizes for various events including the Oz Mega Competition, Novelty events, South Africa to Wagga race and many more categories.

Easter Monday 5th April

Farewell day and departures.  The reserve and event closes at 2pm.

Another event, the Oz Mega Cito (a Event) has been listed to help with the cleanup of the area around the scout camp on Easter Monday.

If you can help with that too, then all you have to do is log your "will attend" and be prepared.
